Storefront information architecture, product discovery and checkout UX
E-commerce and Online Stores
for business systems.
WYOCS e-commerce development connects the customer storefront with the payment, inventory, fulfillment and reporting workflows a business needs to operate online.
When E-commerce and Online Stores is relevant.
Shopify, WooCommerce or fully custom storefronts. Payment integrations, inventory orchestration, conversion optimization and the analytics to keep growing.
- Retailers launching or replacing an online store
- Businesses connecting commerce to inventory or operational systems
- Teams improving a storefront that is slow, difficult to use or difficult to measure
What the work can include.
The final scope is defined in a written proposal and Statement of Work. The items below describe the real capabilities covered by this WYOCS service, not a fixed package.
Shopify, WooCommerce or custom commerce implementation
Payment, inventory, fulfillment and analytics integrations where required
Mobile usability, accessibility and storefront performance work
Deployment, operational documentation and ongoing improvement options

Hosted commerce, a CMS store or a custom checkout?
Hosted commerce can simplify routine store operations when its catalog and checkout constraints fit. A CMS store can suit a content-led business with an existing publishing workflow. Custom commerce needs a clear reason, such as specialized ordering or fulfillment rules, together with a budget for ongoing maintenance.
Deliverables to agree in the proposal
- A mapped catalog covering products, variants, categories and existing product URLs.
- Documented payment, tax, shipping and fulfillment responsibilities for each integration.
- A launch and rollback plan with catalog validation and order reconciliation.
How to review the result
- Exercise successful, failed and abandoned checkouts using provider test facilities.
- Verify inventory and order state when a webhook is retried or delivered out of order.
- Check product availability, currency and shipping information against the visible storefront.
What affects cost and timing?
Catalog size, product variants, subscriptions, countries, migration quality and fulfillment integrations drive effort. Platform charges, payment fees and third-party services should be identified separately in the proposal.

The stack follows the problem.
WYOCS works with existing systems where practical and selects technology around the delivery, operational and maintenance requirements.
Before a first conversation.
Should we use Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom storefront?
The choice depends on the catalog, checkout requirements, internal team and required integrations. Discovery compares platform constraints and recurring costs before selecting an implementation. A custom storefront is not automatically the best option.
Can the store connect to payments and inventory?
Payment, inventory and fulfillment integrations can be scoped where the relevant providers offer suitable access. Merchant approval, supported countries, transaction fees and API restrictions remain subject to those providers.
How is a store migration planned?
Inventory product and category URLs, catalog data, orders and integrations first. Agree on test checkout, data validation, cutover and rollback. Removed products without an equivalent should not all redirect to the home page.
